Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, Nicolet leadership has been focusing on supporting the diverse needs of our students, staff and families, but has also been proactively planning to ensure that the district maintains a strong foundation that meets the high expectations of the Nicolet community (River Hills, Fox Point, Bayside, Glendale).
In 2011, and again in 2016, the Nicolet community passed non-recurring operational referendums ($2.15 million per year for four years and $3.15 million per year for six years, respectfully) to ensure the district could continue to maintain and support educational programs, retain critical teaching staff, and maintain small class sizes. The 2016 referendum will expire at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Without a replacement referendum, Nicolet is facing an average budget shortfall of 17.9% of the annual budget over the next six years.
The Nicolet High School District’s School Board unanimously approved placing a question on the April 6 General Election ballot asking taxpayers for permission to replace the 2016 Operational Referendum.
